Tourist Spots You Must See When Visiting San Francisco

0

The “Paris of the West” is a city that has seen more than its fair share of change over the years. From squatter riots to surfing, hippies to tech bros, San Francisco has been able to adapt and reinvent itself time and time again.

But what should you make sure to see?

Fisherman’s Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf is a highly popular tourist spot that is loved by all. From the famous Pier 39 to Ghirardelli Square, this area has the whole San Franciscan feel to it that makes you never want to leave. When in San Francisco, Fisherman’s Wharf must be on your list of places to visit!

Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in the world and represents San Francisco so well. A visit to the bridge should absolutely be on your list of things to do while in San Francisco.

The bridge is over a mile long and has a beautiful view of the city and bay. If you’re driving, make sure to go through the tunnel that connects two parts of the bridge together. The Golden Gate Bridge is even more beautiful when seen from underneath

Union Square

Union Square is said to be one of the most beautiful areas in San Francisco. The square is surrounded by a variety of shops, restaurants, like one of my faves 620 Jones, and hotels. Union Square has something for everyone and should definitely be on your list of things to see while in San Francisco.

Rodeo Beach

Rodeo Beach is known as the “beach at the end of the universe”. This beach is located on the sandbar in the San Francisco Bay. There are no roads leading down to this beach, but it is easily accessible by waterbus. On a clear day you can see all the way to Alcatraz which has been a tourist attraction for many years and should be on your list of things to do while in San Francisco.

Lombard Street

One of the most famous San Francisco streets is Lombard Street. This street is named after the founder of the city and starts at Hyde Street and becomes famous for the shops that line its long sides.

Alcatraz

Located in the center of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz is famously known for being a maximum security prison between 1934 and 1963. Today, this prison is a popular tourist attraction and should be on your list of things to do while in San Francisco.

Chinatown

Chinatown would be one of my favorite areas while in San Francisco. It has an amazing atmosphere with great food and a lot of culture.

San Francisco is a city that has seen its fair share of change, but there are several things that should be on everyone’s list. From Fisherman’s Wharf to the Golden Gate Bridge to Union Square, San Francisco has it all. Make sure to visit these attractions and our list of things to do in San Francisco while you’re here!
